Windstream sells former EarthLink consumer business
On December 31, Windstream announced the sale of our EarthLink consumer business to Trive Capital for $330M. This deal is an integral part of our go-forward strategy, reinforced by the message from our CEO Tony Thomas: “This transaction enables us to divest a non-core segment and focus exclusively on our two largest business units.”
It’s important to understand that the EarthLink consumer business has always been distinct and separate from the channel, so the sale of this business unit should have no impact on our partners. We’re continuing to invest in our business and specifically in the channel in 2019 to help our partners and their customers migrate to next-generation solutions.
Windstream Enterprise earns 2018 Friend of the Channel award
TMC, a global, integrated media company has named Windstream Enterprise as a 2018 INTERNET TELEPHONY Friend of the Channel Award winner. Winners of the 2018 Friends of the Channel award were announced online and highlighted in INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. The ‘Most Improved’ designation is a direct reflection of the investment and emphasis placed on our channel program.
The EarthLink billing migration—scheduled for late January—has been postponed. Previously notified customers will receive communications throughout January and February regarding the postponement of the migration. When completed, this migration will provide a best-in-class experience for our former EarthLink customer base.
Customer nurturing is an integral part of building and growing relationships with our existing customers, even if they’re not currently looking to purchase additional products.
Five Bullet Friday is a concise email sent to our customer base the first Friday of every month, providing market insights and Windstream Enterprise news and product information to help inform our customers on ways to grow their business and define a future strategy.
The email doesn’t contain a call to action and serves as a touch-point to further build an effective relationship throughout the customer lifecycle and buyer’s journey. It’s important to note, some partners may be listed as contacts on customer accounts and therefore, will also receive the emails.
